JAMSHEDPUR – A tragic incident unfolded in Giridih as an aspiring constable lost his life during a physical fitness test for the Jharkhand Excise Department recruitment.
The unfortunate event occurred on Friday morning during the physical fitness examination for the Excise Department constable recruitment in Giridih.
Viranchi Ray, a resident of Gadi village in Dhanwar, succumbed during the test.
This marks the first fatality in the district related to the ongoing recruitment process.
Meanwhile, eight other candidates lost consciousness due to the scorching heat.
These affected individuals are currently receiving medical attention at the Sadar Hospital.
Fortunately, all of them are reported to be in stable condition.
Upon learning of the incident, Nagar Thana in-charge Shailesh Prasad rushed to the hospital.
He promptly gathered information about the entire situation.
Furthermore, BJP leader Vinay Singh and MALE leader Rajesh Sinha also visited the hospital.
They expressed their concern over the unfortunate turn of events.
Several companions of the deceased Viranchi Ray arrived at the Sadar Hospital upon hearing the news.
They raised allegations regarding the hospital’s management and facilities.
The physical fitness test was taking place near the New Police Line in Giridih.
Notably, this is not an isolated incident in the recruitment drive.
Prior to this tragedy, 14 other candidates had already lost their lives during similar physical tests.
The rising death toll has raised serious concerns about the safety measures in place.
Authorities are now facing pressure to address these issues and ensure the well-being of candidates.
