JAMSHEDPUR – Continuous heavy rainfall in Baharagora block has led to rising water levels in the Subarnarekha River, prompting the block administration to issue warnings to residents of several coastal villages.
Villages like Madhuabeda, Guhaldihi, Chardkamara, Bamdol, Guhiyapal, and Pathri have been alerted as the water level in the Subarnarekha River continues to rise.
Baharagora BDO Keshav Bharti has issued an audio message urging people living near the river to remain vigilant.
He informed that the gates of Chandil Dam have been opened, which could cause the water level to rise even further.
Residents have been advised not to go near the river for activities such as fishing or bathing, as it could be life-threatening.
The BDO has instructed panchayat secretaries and other block officials to disseminate this warning to village heads and ward members.
Residents have been urged to stay alert and to relocate to safer areas if necessary.
