RANCHI – Jharkhand Congress is set to commence its assembly election campaign by engaging with women beneficiaries of government welfare programs in Ranchi.
The party will organize a ‘Maiya Sammelan’ at Janata Maidan near ITI Bus Stand on September 22.
Bandhu Tirkey, former executive president of Jharkhand Congress, highlighted the event’s significance.
The gathering aims to showcase the coalition government’s public welfare initiatives over the past four and a half years.
Women from 15 assembly constituencies in the South Chotanagpur region are expected to attend.
Participants will hail from diverse areas, including Latehar, Manika, and Koderma.
The event will also feature women associated with the State Women Congress and various social organizations.
"We hope to boost morale and discuss women’s role in the upcoming elections," said a party insider.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren and AICC in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir will grace the occasion.
Other key attendees include K Raju, coordinator of ST/SC/OBC and minority front of AICC.
State party president Keshav Mahato and Congress legislative party leader Rameshwar Oraon will also participate.
The conference will honor women who have made significant contributions to society in their regions.
"Our goal is to gather input from women to enhance scheme implementation," explained a party representative.
This initiative marks a strategic move by the Congress to engage with female voters ahead of the assembly polls.
