Key Points:

– Flooding affects 300 homes in Kadma’s Shastri Nagar due to rising river levels.

– BJP leader urges district administration to provide immediate relief.

– Locals claim they were not warned before the floodwaters entered their homes.

JAMSHEDPUR – Continuous rainfall over the past three days, combined with the release of dam gates, has led to a flood-like situation in settlements along the Kharkai and Subarnarekha rivers.

Around 300 homes in Kadma’s Shastri Nagar area have been severely affected by the rising water levels.

Upon receiving the news, BJP leader and former DIG visited the flooded areas early in the morning to assess the situation and spoke with the Deputy Commissioner, urging immediate provision of basic necessities for the affected residents.

The BJP leader expressed concern that residents were not warned by the district administration before the floodwaters entered their homes, leaving them unable to save essential resources and valuables.

He criticized the local MLA, who also serves as the Minister of Disaster Management, Health, and Food Supply, for being indifferent to the people’s problems.

The leader requested the minister to visit the affected areas, provide compensation for the damages, and instruct the district administration to deliver essential services to those impacted by the flooding.
