JAMSHEDPUR – A young swimmer from Jamshedpur has secured a bronze medal in the 77th Senior National Swimming Championship held in Mangaluru.
Rana Pratap, an 18-year-old from Govindpur, Jamshedpur, demonstrated exceptional skill in the men’s 100-meter breaststroke event.
The talented athlete clocked an impressive time of 1:04:49 to clinch the bronze medal.
In a fiercely competitive field, Vidith S Shankar from Karnataka claimed gold with a time of 1:02:75.
Meanwhile, Dhanush Suresh of Tamil Nadu secured the silver medal, finishing in 1:03:27.
Rana’s achievement adds to his growing list of accolades in competitive swimming.
Previously, he set a record time of 2:21 in the 200-meter breaststroke at the 2023 Junior National Swimming Championship in Bhubaneswar.
Moreover, the young swimmer has also earned medals at the Goa National Games and Khelo India events.
Currently, Rana is honing his skills under the guidance of coach Partho Majumdar in Delhi.
His recent bronze medal showcases the rising talent emerging from Jharkhand’s swimming scene.
