JAMSHEDPUR – Bengali groups in Jamshedpur showcased their cultural pride through a vibrant parade, undeterred by heavy rainfall that altered Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit plans.
The Jharkhand Bengali Language Upliftment Committee had meticulously planned a grand welcome for Prime Minister Modi.
They set up a stage near B S Park Plaza Hotel on Bistupur Main Road for the occasion.
However, inclement weather forced changes to the Prime Minister’s schedule, including the cancellation of his roadshow.
Undaunted by the setback, Bengali organizations in Jamshedpur pressed ahead with their welcome program.
They organized a colorful procession along Bistupur Main Road, braving the heavy downpour.

The parade featured children dressed as prominent Bengali figures, leading the march with enthusiasm.
Young participants embodied the spirit of Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and Swami Vivekananda.
Resilient Bengali Community Spirit
Men and women in traditional Bengali attire followed, singing Rabindra Sangeet as they walked.
The air resonated with patriotic fervor as participants chanted “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
“The Bengali community’s passion was truly inspiring, even in this adverse weather,” remarked a local resident.
Despite the rain, the procession continued, showcasing the community’s determination and cultural pride.

Several prominent community members oversaw the event, ensuring its smooth execution despite the challenges.
Notable figures included Achintan Gupta, Amitabh Chatterjee, Vishwanath Ghosh, and Srimati Gauri Kar, among others.
