PM Modi’s Jamshedpur Visit Prompts Massive Security Deployment

5,000+ police personnel to secure key locations for PM’s events

JAMSHEDPUR – The state police are set to deploy more than 5,000 personnel across Jamshedpur for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on September 15.

The security focus will be on Tatanagar Railway Station, Bistupur Main Road, and Gopal Maidan.

Moreover, a multi-tier security blanket will cover event areas and neighboring locations.

A senior police officer stated that a high-alert security plan is in place.

Additionally, the city will be declared a "Temporary Red Zone" for drone operations.

Unauthorized drone flights during Modi’s visit will face penalties under the Drone Rules, 2021.

Furthermore, the Anti-Terrorist Squad and commandos will be stationed at key locations.

Snipers will be positioned on high-rise buildings near the PM’s venues.

Meanwhile, two bomb disposal squads and two Rapid Action Force companies have been deployed.

The security detail includes 2,550 male officers, 250 policewomen, 115 inspectors, and 650 sub-inspectors.

On the other hand, around 100 officers will manage traffic flow during the visit.

Senior IAS and IPS officers have been assigned to oversee security at crucial points.

In addition, PM Modi will launch the allocation of 2 crore new homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that 20,000 Jharkhand beneficiaries will receive approval letters.

However, Chouhan noted delays in the construction of over 1,13,000 homes in the state.
