JAMSHEDPUR – Following a series of incidents at the Ghaghidih Juvenile Home, a meeting was held on Thursday between the juvenile home management, DSP (Law and Order) Tauqir Ahmed, and the Parsudih Police Station in-charge Faiz Ahmed to discuss enhancing the facility’s security.
During the meeting, DSP Tauqir Ahmed highlighted the recurring security breaches at the juvenile home and stressed the immediate need to increase the number of guards on duty.
He also suggested reinforcing and replacing the windows and doors of the wards to prevent future escape attempts.
Parsudih Police Station in-charge Faiz Ahmed proposed the installation of CCTV cameras on the outer walls of the juvenile home.
He explained that these cameras would help monitor if anyone is throwing prohibited items, such as drugs, over the walls from outside.
Additionally, Ahmed suggested constructing a watchtower within the premises to facilitate 24-hour surveillance.
In a related development, it was reported that the fifth juvenile inmate who had escaped on Tuesday night has returned on Thursday.
According to sources, five juvenile inmates had escaped around 2:00 AM on Tuesday by scaling the walls using a rope.
While four of the escapees were caught and returned with the help of Parsudih police, the fifth inmate voluntarily returned two days later.
