JAMSHEDPUR – A retired soldier, Jag Narayan Singh, aged 82, was found dead in his locked quarters in Cable Town, Jamshedpur.
Singh’s body was discovered hidden under a bed in his bedroom with multiple injuries on his head and shoulders.
After neighbors reported a foul smell and Singh’s unusual absence, police were alerted and forced entry into the quarters.
Singh, who previously worked as a security guard after retiring from the military, had been living alone.
His quarters had been locked from the outside for two days, raising concerns among locals, especially his daughter who lives nearby.
Upon entering, police found bloodstains in the room and signs of a violent struggle.
The body has been sent for postmortem at MGM Medical College, and further investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of his death.
Singh’s son, who resides in Patna, is expected to arrive on Thursday.
