Chairman of Swarnim Nari Shakti Foundation Assaulted; Clash Erupts in Bokaro’s Harla

Violence ensues as women retaliate; police accused of inaction during the incident.

Maya Pandey, Chairman of the Swarnim Nari Shakti Suraksha Foundation, was publicly assaulted in Harla’s Sector 9, sparking a violent clash between both sides.

BOKARO – In Harla’s Sector 9, Maya Pandey, Chairman of the Swarnim Nari Shakti Suraksha Foundation, was attacked by one N Mahto, leading to a confrontation between the foundation’s members and Mahto.

The incident took place amidst a year-long domestic dispute between P Devi and her husband, N Mahto.

Pandey stated that Mahto had been abusing his wife and had cut off her financial support.

In response, the foundation intervened by breaking the lock of Mahto’s shop and placing P Devi inside.

On Wednesday, when Pandey and her team arrived after receiving reports of renewed conflict, a heated argument broke out.

During this altercation, N Mahto allegedly assaulted the women, snatching a gold chain and physically attacking them.

The women then retaliated, and the scene quickly turned chaotic.

This violent exchange occurred in the presence of the police, who reportedly remained passive during the incident.

Following the clash, foundation members met with IG Dr. Michaelraj S. of South Chotanagpur to demand Mahto’s arrest.

The IG has promised appropriate action and has requested video evidence from the scene to support the investigation.
