Eloquence Unleashed: Gulmohur High School’s Elocution Extravaganza

Young Orators Shine in Bilingual Verbal Virtuosity Display

Students at Gulmohur High School demonstrated exceptional oratory prowess in both English and Hindi during the annual elocution competition.

JAMSHEDPUR – Gulmohur High School’s annual elocution event on August 31 showcased remarkable linguistic talents across various age groups and categories.

The competition, drawing inspiration from Ralph Waldo Emerson’s philosophy on the power of speech, brought together students from classes VI to XII to exhibit their verbal dexterity.

In the English segment, participants engaged in diverse oratory challenges:

  1. Poetry Recitation (Classes 6-8)

  2. Declamation of Iconic Speeches (Classes 9-10)

  3. Shakespearean Monologues (Classes 11-12)

The Hindi category featured an equally impressive array of verbal artistry:

  1. Nature-inspired Poetry (Class 6)

  2. Humorous Verse (Classes 7 and 9)

  3. Heroic Poems (Class 8)

  4. Contemporary Social Commentary (Class 11)

  5. Motivational Orations (Classes 10 and 12)

Esteemed judges from local educational institutions, including Tejwant Kaur and Swati Kamboj for English, and Richa Dwivedi and Mridula Kumari for Hindi, evaluated the performances.

Vice-Principal Archana Srivastava lauded the participants, stating, "The linguistic prowess and confidence displayed by our students today is truly remarkable. It’s inspiring to witness such eloquence in our young orators."

The Hindi competition saw outstanding performances as well, with Anika Kashyap, Samriddha Ghosal, and Ishika Kumari clinching first place in their respective classes.

Manvi Kumari demonstrated exceptional versatility by securing top honors in both English and Hindi categories for her age group.

"Participating in this competition has been an exhilarating experience," remarked Chandni Mishra, Best Speaker for classes 9-10 in English. "It’s not just about winning; it’s about finding our voice and learning to express ourselves effectively."

The event not only celebrated individual talents but also fostered a spirit of healthy competition and linguistic appreciation among the students.
