JAMSHEDPUR – The mystery surrounding Guddu Shukla’s disappearance on November 10 took a grim turn as a skeleton, believed to be his, was recovered from the Sona River in Kharsawan on January 13.
Although the family has performed the last rites, police have stated that a DNA test will be pivotal in confirming the identity and progressing the case.
Skeleton Recovered and Postmortem Conducted
Guddu Shukla, a resident of Sidhgora’s Bajrang Chowk, had been missing for over two months. His skeleton was recovered in the presence of a magistrate, and a postmortem was conducted before it was handed over to the family. Police have intensified their investigation, with plans to take two suspects, Ajay Mallah and Suraj Kumar, into remand. However, a third accused remains at large.
Breakthrough After Tempo Driver’s Arrest
The case came to light following the arrest of tempo driver Pintu, who revealed that Guddu’s body was transported on his vehicle and dumped into the Sona River. Guddu’s wife, Surabhi, has demanded the harshest punishment for the perpetrators.
Police Efforts to Solve the Case
The Sidhgora police are pursuing leads to apprehend the absconding accused. The DNA test is expected to shed light on the crime and bring closure to the grieving family.
