BJM Jamshedpur Leader Subodh Srivastava Slams Dr. Ajoy Kumar for “Deception”
Subodh Srivastava alleges Congress leader’s statements on Bhuiyadih housing issue are false
Former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar faces criticism for misleading claims about NGT case and demolition notices in Indira Nagar-Kalyan Nagar settlements.
JAMSHEDPUR – Subodh Srivastava, district president of Bharatiya Janata Morcha, has challenged Dr. Ajoy Kumar’s recent statements on Bhuiyadih housing crisis as ‘sheer deception’ and “a bag of lies”.
Srivastava issued a press statement today, accusing Dr. Ajoy Kumar, Congress leader and self-proclaimed candidate for Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency, of spreading misinformation about the demolition notices and NGT case concerning Indira Nagar-Kalyan Nagar settlements.
The BJM leader raised several points to counter Dr. Kumar’s claims:
He demanded that Dr. Kumar either produce the letter from Arjun Munda that allegedly initiated the NGT case or apologize for making false statements.
Srivastava emphasized that the NGT case was initiated suo moto, as clearly stated in every order of the case.
He questioned why Dr. Kumar, with his educational background and corporate experience, was implicating Munda without proper evidence.
NGT’s Stand on Demolition Notices
Srivastava highlighted that during yesterday’s hearing, the NGT’s Kolkata bench clarified that the demolition notices for Indira Nagar-Kalyan Nagar houses are not related to the case before them.
He mentioned that around 50 residents from these settlements had attended the hearing in Kolkata and witnessed this statement firsthand.
The BJM leader accused Dr. Kumar of misrepresenting facts despite this clear stance from the NGT.
Question of Political Credit
Srivastava challenged Dr. Kumar’s accusation that Saryu Roy was seeking undue credit for addressing the issue.
He asked who had first visited the settlements when the demolition notices were received – Saryu Roy or Ajoy Kumar.
Srivastava asserted that it was widely known that Roy had raised the issue initially, with Kumar following suit later.
Call for Action from Ruling Party
The BJM leader pointed out that Dr. Kumar’s party is currently in power in Jharkhand.
He suggested that instead of holding press conferences and criticizing others, Dr. Kumar should use his influence to get the demolition notices withdrawn or suspended through the Chief Minister, the minister from Jamshedpur, or the Chief Secretary.
Srivastava noted that the minister from Jamshedpur in Dr. Kumar’s government has remained silent on this issue, while government officials continue to issue demolition notices.
He accused Dr. Kumar of pressuring Arjun Munda and Saryu Roy instead of addressing the issue through his own party’s government.
Parting Shot
Srivastava concluded by stating that the people of Jamshedpur are well aware of the situation and know both Dr. Ajoy Kumar and the Congress party.
He called on Dr. Kumar to either produce Arjun Munda’s alleged letter or issue a public apology.
The BJM leader characterized Dr. Kumar’s press conference statement as a bundle of lies and deception, urging him to cease such misleading practices.
