Jamshedpur MMC Workers’ Strike Disrupts Sanitation Services

Ongoing strike by sanitation workers leaves Mango in disarray, with garbage piling up and foul odors affecting residents.

Sanitation workers of Mango Municipal Corporation remained on strike on Wednesday, severely disrupting cleanliness services across the area.

JAMSHEDPUR – Sanitation services in the Mango Municipal Corporation area were severely affected as workers continued their strike on Wednesday, leading to piles of garbage and foul odors emanating from clogged drains.

The ongoing strike by sanitation workers, who are demanding overdue wages, has left the entire municipal area in a state of disarray.

While some areas saw partial garbage collection, it could not be dumped due to the Bharat Bandh, exacerbating the situation.

There is hope that the situation may improve today as sanitation workers are expected to return to work on Thursday.

Officials from the Mango Municipal Corporation stated that the workers have assured they will end their strike.

The pending wages are likely to be credited to the workers’ accounts by the agency by late evening, allowing regular operations to resume from Thursday.

Meanwhile, the corporation has issued a stern warning to the agency responsible for timely payment of workers’ salaries in the future.
