Accident victim identified as Golmuri resident, driver under custody

The youth killed in a road accident near Big Bazar in Mango has been identified as a Mango resident D Kumar, 28. He has left behind his wife and a one-year-old child.

Jamshedpur: The youth who died in road accident near Big Bazar Friday was identified as D Kumar, 28, of Golmuri Cable Town. He is survived by his wife and a one-year-old child.

The family members are in a shocked state.

Relatives said that D Kumar had started working in a transport firm only two months back. On Friday, he received a gift coupon fom Big Bazar and had gone to encash that coupon. In the course of reaching Big Bazar he was hit by a speeding trailer.

The locals informed the police and the police later informed the family.

Meanwhile, the police have taken the driver of the trailer into custody.

The driver, reportedly, has told the police that he saw someone waving hand to stop and he turned the trailer towards left without checking if there was somebody on the left or not. This resulted into the accident as the youth was hit by the trailer.

The police have registered a case in this connection and are investigating it.
