Ghatshila College Marks 64th Foundation Day with Grand Celebration
Vice Chancellor and Local MLA Join Festivities Amidst Cultural Performances
Ghatshila College’s 64th anniversary celebration showcases progress and cultural heritage, with promises of future development.
GHATSHILA – Ghatshila College commemorated its 64th Foundation Day on Monday with a vibrant ceremony attended by dignitaries and marked by cultural performances.
The event commenced with the illumination of 64 lamps, symbolizing the college’s years of existence.
Portraits of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and the institution’s founders were adorned with garlands and flowers.
A procession of students, playing traditional instruments and performing tribal dances, welcomed the guests from the entrance to the auditorium.
Dr. RK Chaudhary, the College Principal, presented Vice Chancellor Hari Kumar Keshari with cultural artifacts representing Santali heritage.
In his speech, Dr. Chaudhary highlighted the college’s achievements and expressed gratitude to various stakeholders.
"The grand scale of today’s celebration is a testament to the collective efforts of our supporters," Dr. Chaudhary remarked.
MLA Ramdas Soren announced plans for a new canteen building, to be funded from his allocated resources.
Vice Chancellor Keshari praised the college’s progress and the collaborative spirit driving its development.
The ceremony honored the institution’s founders and retired staff members for their contributions.
Students presented a cultural program featuring tribal folk dances, including Dasai and Jhagad.
The Tribal Cultural Society of Tata Steel collaborated in the performances.
Professor Indal Paswan conducted the event, while Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh delivered the vote of thanks.
The celebration saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff members.
