A two-day Capacity Building Programme for teachers of Jharkhand Zone E was held at DAV Public School, Bistupur, aimed at enhancing teaching skills for Nursery to Class II educators.
JAMSHEDPUR – DAV Public School, Bistupur, hosted a Capacity Building Programme on August 9-10, 2024, for in-service teachers from eight schools in Jharkhand Zone E.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the DAV anthem.
Mrs. Pragya Singh, ARO cum Principal, welcomed the participants, emphasizing that education is linked to the quality of teaching rather than comfort and convenience.
She stressed the importance of ongoing learning for teachers and highlighted the guidance of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and NIPUN Bharat for foundational classes.
Focus on Early Childhood Education
Mrs. Singh underscored that maximum brain development occurs between 0-6 years, with early childhood care education focusing on children aged 3-8 years.
The training aims to improve teaching and learning processes for this age group.
Sessions Overview
The first session on Day 1, led by Mrs. Gibi Santosh, Master Trainer from DAV Bistupur, focused on "Understanding Play Pedagogy."
She emphasized the importance of play in childhood, as advocated by NEP-2020, covering areas such as structured, unstructured, cognitive, emotional, and physical play.
Miss Tripti Tiwari from SJ DAV PS Chaibasa conducted the second session, "Vibrant and Giggling Classroom," where she explained the importance of an active, fun, and positive learning environment.
The third session, led by Mrs. Ganish Kaur from DAV PS Bistupur, focused on "Understanding Literacy and Numeracy," stressing that foundational language learning relies on communication rather than just reading and writing.
Inclusivity in Education
The post-lunch session was taken by Mrs. Chandrapriya from DAV PS Bistupur on "Understanding Inclusivity at an Early Stage."
She discussed the importance of educating children with disabilities alongside their peers, as emphasized by NEP-2020.
The session covered various symptoms and behavioral issues faced by children with ADHD and strategies for creating an inclusive learning environment.
Interactive Session and Conclusion
The day concluded with an Interactive Session where teachers shared their "Best Practices" for holistic student development.
The first day of the programme ended on a positive note, with teachers feeling empowered to face the challenges of their profession.
