255 special camps set up in East Singhbhum for scheme applications
A new initiative offers monthly aid to eligible women aged 21-50 in Jharkhand for health and nutrition.
RANCHI – The Maiyan Samman Yojana has turned out to be a big hit in Jharkhand as thousands of womenfolk stand in queue to apply for beneficiary status.
The scheme, conceptualized by the former Chief Minister Champai Soren has not only generated a keen interest among women, but is also likely to have a big impact in the oncoming Assembly elections in the state.
East Singhbhum district has introduced 255 daily camps for the Jharkhand Chief Minister Maiyaan Samman Scheme applications.
The Jharkhand government has initiated a welfare program targeting women aged 21-50 years.
This scheme aims to provide a monthly honorarium of Rs. 1000 to eligible beneficiaries.
The funds are intended for expenses related to nutrition, health, and sanitation.
Since August 3rd, approximately 5000 online applications have been processed through special camps.
Application Process
Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal announced that free application forms are available to all eligible candidates.
He clarified, "Applicants can submit either colored forms, black and white photocopies of PDF forms, or forms downloaded from the official website."
The forms can be obtained from https://www.jharkhand.gov.in/wcd.
Anganwadi workers have been instructed to accept any version of the completed form from beneficiaries.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scheme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Jharkhand resident aged 21-50 years
2. Possess an Aadhaar-linked single bank account
3. Hold a voter ID card and Aadhaar card
4. Belong to a ration card holding family (yellow, pink, white, or green categories)
Exclusions apply to:
– Income tax payers
– EPF holders
– Government employees or pensioners
– Recipients of other social security pensions
– Families of current or former MPs/MLAs
Implementation Details
Rural areas will see implementation through Block Development Officers.
Urban areas will be managed by Circle Officers.
Applicants must appear in person at camp sites for Aadhaar and photo verification.
Registered mobile numbers will receive monthly payment notifications.
Those without Aadhaar-linked accounts can avail benefits until December 2024, after which linking becomes mandatory.
