JAMSHEDPUR – Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) emerged victorious in a thrilling quarter-final match against Punjab FC at the Tata Steel Sports Complex stadium, prevailing 6-5 on sudden-death penalties.

The match concluded in regulation time with a score of 3-3, demonstrating the offensive prowess of both teams.

Punjab FC scored their first goal with a penalty kick from Luka Majcen.

Suhail Bhat and Manvir Singh scored for MBSG, allowing them to regain the lead.

Punjab FC regained the lead when Filip Mrzljak and Norberto Vidal struck consecutively.

In the 79th minute, Jason Cummings scored an equalizer for MBSG, which necessitated a penalty shootout.

The semi-finals were secured by MBSG after Thomas Aldred netted the decisive penalty.

During the shootout, MBSG goalkeeper Vishal Kaith made critical saves, preventing Punjab FC’s Novoselec and Denechandram Meetei from scoring.
