Urges Union Minister to Revive HCL Operations in Musabani
Jamshedpur MP meets Union Mines Minister, advocates for reopening HCL’s smelter plant and mines in Musabani. Seeks revival of Dhobani, Kishangarhia, and Pathargada mines to boost local economy.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Lok Sabha MP Bidyut Baran Mahato met with Union Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Thursday, advocating for the revival of Hindustan Copper Limited’s operations in the region.
Mahato submitted a memorandum to Minister Reddy, emphasizing the need to reopen HCL’s smelter plant at Moubhandar and various mines in Musabani.
The MP specifically highlighted the importance of restarting operations at the Dhobani, Kishangarhia, and Pathargada mines.
Senior BJP leaders, including Dinesh Sahu and Haradhan Singh, accompanied Mahato during the crucial meeting.
"Reopening these facilities is vital for our local economy," Mahato stated. "It will create jobs and boost industrial growth in our region."
The delegation stressed the potential economic benefits of reviving these copper mining operations.
They argued that restarting the mines and smelter plant could significantly impact employment and development in the Musabani area.
Minister Reddy reportedly listened attentively to the concerns raised by the Jamshedpur MP and his team.
While no immediate commitments were made, the Minister assured the delegation that their requests would be given due consideration.
"We’re hopeful that the Union government will take positive steps towards reviving these crucial industrial assets," said Dinesh Sahu, one of the BJP leaders present at the meeting.
