DAV National Sports 2024 Kicks Off in Jamshedpur

Two-day tournament features multiple sports across various age categories

DAV Public School, Bistupur hosts the DAV National Sports 2024 Cluster-I Tournament, showcasing diverse sporting events and fostering athletic excellence.

JAMSHEDPUR – The two-day DAV National Sports 2024 Cluster-I Tournament was initiated by DAV Public School, Bistupur on July 30, and it will encompass a variety of sporting events.

The DAV Gaan was recited by 800 participants from 8 institutions during the inaugural ceremony.

Pragya Singh, the Principal of the ARO cum, extended a warm welcome to the contestants and chiefs of participating schools.

Table Tennis, Karate, Wushu, Judo, and Boxing are among the events that will be held on the school grounds during the tournament.

Cricket matches are being conducted at the LIC Ground, Kadma, and the Cooperative College Ground.

Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium, Telco, is the site of athletic competitions on July 31.

In her welcome address, Singh underscored the significance of collaboration, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The tournament includes three age categories for both boys and girls: Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19.

Certificates issued at the zonal level will function as certificates issued at the state level for the victors.

The National Level Tournament will be the next step for the top performers, who may be selected for the Olympic Games.

Singh urged participants to pursue excellence and earn accolades for their families and institutions.

Medal ceremonies were conducted to honor the victors of the day.

The event was witnessed by the heads of schools from DAV institutions in Dhanbad, Chaibasa, Noamundi, Sijua, Mahuda, and Barora.

The tournament’s objective is to cultivate excellence and brotherhood among students through the medium of athletics.

Singh formally proclaimed the DAV National Sports Cluster-I Tournament open, thereby initiating the competitions.
