Jamshedpur FC bolsters its defense with the acquisition of versatile young talent Shubham Sarangi for the upcoming season.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Men of Steel have strengthened their defensive lineup with the signing of promising 24-year-old defender Shubham Sarangi.
Sarangi joins Jamshedpur FC on a one-season contract with a performance-based extension clause, following his tenure with Odisha FC from 2019 to 2023.
The young defender brings a wealth of experience, having represented India in youth tournaments and trained at Qatar’s prestigious Aspire Academy.
"I’m eager to prove myself under Coach Khalid Jamil’s guidance," Sarangi expressed, highlighting his determination to overcome past injury setbacks.
Head Coach Khalid Jamil praised Sarangi’s versatility, noting his ability to adapt to various defensive positions seamlessly.
"Shubham’s work ethic and drive have already impressed me during pre-season training," Jamil remarked, emphasizing the player’s quick integration into the squad.
Sarangi’s signing follows an impressive youth career, including participation in the 2013 U-14 AFC qualifying tournament and the U-17 World Cup project for India.
The defender’s journey includes stints with Delhi Dynamos, where he made his ISL debut, and Minerva Punjab F.C. Academy, where he excelled in youth leagues.
Jamshedpur FC fans can look forward to seeing Sarangi in action, as he has already joined the pre-season camp wearing jersey number 24.
