Highway Safety Crackdown Targets Illegal Parking in Jamshedpur

Over 30 vehicles fined in operation led by Motor Vehicle Inspector Hembram

District administration’s campaign aims to reduce accidents and enforce traffic regulations on national highway.

JAMSHEDPUR – The district administration launched a rigorous investigation campaign targeting illegally parked heavy vehicles along the National Highway, following directives from District Magistrate Ananya Mittal.

Motor Vehicle Inspector Suraj Hembram spearheaded the operation, focusing on the highway stretch from Dimna Chowk to Baliguma and Pardih.

"We inspected over 50 vehicles and imposed fines on more than 30 found parked unauthorized on the highway’s side," Hembram reported during the campaign.

The comprehensive checks included scrutiny of fitness certificates, permits, insurance, and pollution control certificates for trucks, trailers, and Hyva vehicles.

Inspectors uncovered several violations, including expired tax documents and lapsed permits and insurance.

Hembram emphasized the dangers of illegal parking, stating, "Road accidents often result from vehicles parked illegally. All vehicles should use designated parking areas to prevent loss of life or property."

The Motor Vehicle Inspector issued a stern warning to heavy vehicle operators, declaring that illegal parking along the highway, especially from Kali Mandir, Pardih to Baliguma, would lead to vehicle seizure and fines.

"Our department will continue vehicle checking campaigns and take legal action against rule violators," Hembram added.

This proactive approach reflects the administration’s commitment to enhancing road safety and enforcing traffic laws.

Local residents have responded positively to the campaign, appreciating efforts to address long-standing concerns about illegally parked heavy vehicles obstructing traffic and increasing accident risks.

The district administration plans to implement additional measures, including improved signage for parking areas, increased parking spaces, and awareness campaigns for vehicle operators.
