SERAIKELA – Former Chief Minister Champai Soren recently visited Seraikela-Kharsawan district, unveiling plans for significant water infrastructure projects and addressing farmer concerns.

The Seraikela MLA revealed that the Gazia Barrage in Gamharia will soon supply water to several panchayats through a pipeline system.

This project is nearing inauguration and is expected to benefit 8-9 panchayats in the region.

Soren also announced the construction of three weirs on the Kharkai river, strategically located at Titirbila, Pauri, and another site.

These structures aim to enhance water availability for nearby panchayats and facilitate year-round agricultural activities.

Addressing the current agricultural challenges, the former Chief Minister acknowledged the impact of insufficient July rainfall on local farmers.

"We are closely monitoring the situation and will implement measures to support our farming community soon," Soren stated during his visit.
