JAMSHEDPUR – A violent altercation at an illegal liquor den in Gandhinagar, under Bagbera police station, left two men seriously injured on Friday night.
The operator and his associates allegedly attacked two patrons with a pistol butt over an unpaid alcohol bill.
Victims Kundan Kumar Singh and Prem Kumar, residents of DB Road, were rushed to Sadar Hospital for treatment.
Bagbera police station in-charge PC Sinha arrived at the scene, but the suspects had already fled.
A senior police official stated, "We are investigating the incident thoroughly and will apprehend the culprits soon."
Details of the Incident
Kundan Kumar was reportedly released from jail two months ago.
The altercation began when the operator demanded payment after the victims had consumed alcohol.
The dispute escalated to physical violence, followed by gunfire and assault with a pistol butt.
Both victims sustained injuries above their eyes.
Police Response and Investigation
Bagbera police were informed about gunshots fired during the incident.
Upon arrival, officers found the suspects had already escaped.
No shell casings were recovered from the crime scene.
"We are collecting eyewitness accounts," a police source explained.
