Fake Certificate Racket Busted in Jamshedpur’s Mango Area
Over 50 Fake Certificates Seized in Surprise Raid by SDO Parul Singh
A major fake certificate racket was uncovered in Mango, Jamshedpur, with the seizure of over 50 forged documents and the arrest of the gang leader.
JAMSHEDPUR – A fake certificate racket operating from a house in Mango, Jamshedpur, was busted on Friday afternoon by SDO Parul Singh, who conducted a surprise raid with Azadnagar Police.
The raid took place at house number 92 near Tejap Talab, Green Valley, in Zakir Nagar Road No. 17.
Mohammad Manzar Alam, the gang leader, was arrested during the raid.
The raid led to the confiscation of computers, printers, CPUs, more than a dozen pen drives, mobile phones, laptops, and over 50 forged certificates from top engineering, diploma colleges, and major universities across the country.
The police filed a case against Manzar Alam under various sections for making fake certificates and fraud.
During the raid, a young man who had come to collect a fake engineering certificate for overseas employment was also detained for questioning.
He revealed that he had come to collect the certificate to secure a job abroad.
SDO Parul Singh stated that the police received a tip-off last week about the fake certificate operation in Mango, leading to the raid.
The fake certificates were being used for jobs in various companies in the city, other states, and even abroad.
More than 50 fake certificates were seized during the raid.
Pen drives and mobile phones containing details of fake certificates and clients were also confiscated from the gang leader’s room.
These included certificates from engineering and diploma courses, as well as matriculation certificates from Jharkhand Academic Council and West Bengal University.
Certificates of work experience from various companies were also seized.
During initial interrogation, the gang leader admitted to charging higher fees for urgent certificate delivery.
Azadnagar police have begun compiling a list of people involved in the gang and those who obtained jobs using fake certificates.
Another raid was conducted at an additional location connected to the gang leader on Friday night.
