BJP Leaders’ Behavior Remains Unchanged: Dr. Ajoy Kumar

JAMSHEDPUR – Former MP and Congress Working Committee member Dr. Ajoy Kumar, addressing the media on Saturday, criticized BJP leaders and their kin, emphasizing that their behavior remains unchanged.
He cited a recent incident involving Odisha Governor Raghubar Das’s son, Lalit Kumar, who allegedly assaulted and threatened a Raj Bhavan employee.
Incident Involving Lalit Kumar
Dr. Kumar condemned Lalit Kumar’s actions, stating that such behavior is not new among BJP leaders and their families.
He mentioned various past incidents involving influential BJP figures, asserting that powerful individuals often exploit and suppress the middle class and the poor.
Dr. Kumar stated, “Whether it’s the accident incident in Pune, a woman being run over by a powerful leader’s son in Mumbai, or an influential officer’s daughter securing an IAS cadre with a rank of 800, the rich and powerful are oppressing the common people.”
Allegations and Public Outcry
Lalit Kumar, the son of Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, is accused of assaulting and threatening Baikunth Pradhan, an employee at Raj Bhavan.
Pradhan alleged that Kumar verbally abused and slapped him when he went to meet him.
Dr. Kumar noted that there is significant outrage among Raj Bhavan employees against Raghubar Das and his son.
The Raj Bhavan Employee Service Association has demanded action and filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission.
At the time of the press conference, no FIR had been registered.
History of Misconduct
Dr. Kumar highlighted previous incidents involving Raghubar Das’s family.
He mentioned that recently, BJP leader Kamlesh Sahu, Raghubar Das’s nephew, was beaten by people for allegedly misbehaving with women while intoxicated.
In April 2017, Raghubar Das’s younger brother, Moolchand Sahu, was accused of assaulting a Sikh boy and harassing a woman.
In November 2018, the bodyguard of the then Chief Minister Raghubar Das’s son was accused of misconduct.
In April 2023, Kamlesh Sahu was charged with forcibly taking documents from a house.
Criticism of BJP’s Principles
Dr. Kumar questioned the BJP’s commitment to its principles, pointing out the contradictory actions of its leaders and their families.
He remarked, “The party that constantly talks about policy and principles has leaders whose actions tell a different story.”
The press conference was attended by city president Dharmendra Sonkar, Ravindra Jha alias Nattu Jha, Ramashray Prasad, and other leaders and workers.
