Tata Motors Workers Union Delegation Visits Lucknow Plant

Delegation aims to replicate advanced practices and boost electric vehicle production.

A delegation from the Tata Motors Workers Union recently completed a four-day visit to the Tata Motors Lucknow Plant to observe operations and explore advanced practices for implementation in other Tata Motors plants.

JAMSHEDPUR – A delegation from the Tata Motors Workers Union, led by President Gurmeet Singh and General Secretary R.K. Singh, recently visited the Tata Motors Lucknow Plant to learn more about how the facility operates.

Deepak Kumar, the Plant Head of Lucknow, and Shyam Sundar Singh, the Union General Secretary, warmly received them.

The main purpose of the visit was to observe advanced operational practices and consider the potential for implementing them in other Tata Motors facilities.

The discussions revolved around using new technologies to effectively tackle workers’ concerns, improving coordination, promoting Industry 4.0 initiatives, and boosting electric vehicle production.

While on the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to tour the electric vehicle production area and engage in detailed discussions about electric buses.

We focused a lot on understanding the work done by self-directed teams (SDT), which led to a productive exchange of ideas.

The consultations also involved conversations about the significance and advantages of Industry 4.0.

During their visit, ER Officer Abhishek Nair was there to support and assist the union delegation, making sure that the discussions and exchanges went smoothly.

One of the members of the delegation said, "Our aim is to bring back innovative methods that can enhance efficiency and worker satisfaction in other Tata Motors plants."

The visit emphasizes Tata Motors’ dedication to innovation and ongoing improvement in their operations.
