DM Ananya Mittal Urges Swift Action on Scholarships and Housing Projects

Comprehensive meeting addresses delays in benefit disbursement and implementation of various social welfare initiatives.

JAMSHEDPUR – District Magistrate Ananya Mittal led a thorough review of ITDA and welfare department schemes at the Collectorate Auditorium, emphasizing the need for timely implementation and resolution of pending issues.

"Our goal is to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives their due benefits without unnecessary delays," Mittal stated during the meeting.

Key officials, including PD IDTA Dipankar Chaudhary and District Welfare Officer Rajendra Gupta, attended the review session.

Scholarship Disbursement Challenges

Mittal highlighted concerns over delayed pre-matric and post-matric scholarship payments:

Approximately 2,400 out of 123,293 pre-matric scholarship recipients await funds due to bank account errors.

811 students from classes 9 and 10 haven’t received their scholarships.

July 15 deadline set for remaining pre-matric payments, with post-matric scholarships to be completed by July 30.

Housing and Infrastructure Initiatives

The Birsa Housing Scheme has seen progress, with 171 out of 193 approved constructions completed.

Mittal urged officials to expedite the remaining 22 projects.

Instructions issued for finalizing cemetery and cultural site development projects.

Other Welfare Programs

Bicycle distribution program has reached only 904 out of 17,214 targeted students.

Forest lease distribution progress reviewed, with 602 hectares allocated since January 2020.

Chief Minister Pashudhan Vikas Yojana implementation discussed, addressing delays in livestock distribution.

Mukhyamantri Rojgar Srijan program applications to be expedited at the block level.

"We will not tolerate any laxity in implementation. Contractors failing to meet deadlines risk being blacklisted," Mittal warned, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to efficient progress across all schemes.

This comprehensive review underscores Jamshedpur’s dedication to effective welfare scheme implementation, aiming to improve the lives of residents across the district.
