Ex-Bihar minister Amarendra Pratap Singh demands impartial probe into Shastri Nagar incident, citing public anger after BJP & Hindu leader arrests.
Jamshedpur: Former Bihar minister Amarendra Pratap Singh held a press conference on Saturday at Tulsi Bhawan in Bistupur, addressing the recent Shastri Nagar incident. Singh described the incident as unfortunate and the subsequent jailing of BJP and Hindu leaders as causing widespread public anger towards the government.
He called for an impartial investigation by an independent agency, with action taken based on the investigation’s findings to satisfy the public.
Singh emphasized the sensitive nature of the matter and criticized the government for escalating the issue rather than resolving it through dialogue.
He argued that serious charges, including section 307, were unnecessarily imposed, leading to the arrest of BJP and Hindu leaders.
On Friday, Singh visited Ghaghidih jail to meet BJP leader Abhay Singh and other Hinduist leaders, claiming that they were framed and questioning the administration’s intentions.
He urged the administration to act thoughtfully, citing past incidents during Ram Navami celebrations.
