Jharkhand’s DistrictHazaribagh becomes focal point in ongoing investigation of NEET UG 2024 exam paper leak case.
RANCHI – The Bihar Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) has extended its investigation into the NEET UG 2024 paper leak case to Hazaribagh, following the discovery of a half-burnt question paper in Patna.
Dr. Haq Ul Ehsan, Principal of Oasis School and NTA City Coordinator, stated, "We’ve fully cooperated with the EOU team’s investigation."
The EOU team arrived in Hazaribagh on June 21, focusing on the paper distribution process from SBI Bank to five exam centers.
"The sealed question paper box was opened at 1 pm on May 5 at Oasis School, following all protocols," Dr. Haq explained.
Investigators traced the leaked paper to Hazaribagh through its unique code, leading them to examine courier services and bank procedures.
The team is probing a potential connection to a Patna incident where 35-40 students were allegedly memorizing answers on May 4.
EOU officials have collected video footage, bank records, and the question paper box from Oasis School for forensic analysis.
The investigation encompasses all five NEET examination centers in Hazaribagh, including Holy Cross School and DAV School.
Authorities are scrutinizing the timeline of events from the paper’s arrival in Hazaribagh to its distribution on exam day.
This case highlights the ongoing challenges in maintaining the integrity of high-stakes national examinations.
