Alumni and Professors Gather for Commemoration
XLRI Jamshedpur marked its 75th anniversary with a two-day event named Odyssey, held at the Tata Auditorium.
JAMSHEDPUR – The celebration saw the participation of all current and former professors, along with 45 alumni of the institution.
The event was graced by the presence of Tata Steel MD and XLRI Chairman, TV Narendran, as the chief guest, while XLRI Director Father S George, Administration Dean Father Donald D’Souza, Academic Dean Professor Sanjay Patro, and XLRI Alumni Association President Ranavir Sinha were special guests.
Reflecting on XLRI’s Legacy
Addressing the gathering, TV Narendran highlighted the strong social values instilled by institutes like XLRI.
He praised the faculty for their role in shaping not only skilled managers but also better human beings.
"XLRI stands out for its commitment to social values and ethical management," Narendran stated.
He welcomed all the attending professors, former professors, and alumni, acknowledging their contributions to the institution’s legacy.
Emotional Connection with XLRI
Father Donald D’Souza, Dean of Finance at XLRI, emphasized the deep emotional connection people have with the institution.
"This bond brings back students who have studied here and now hold high positions, to reconnect with their college," he said.
Panel Discussion and Insights
A panel discussion, moderated by Professor Sunil Kumar Shardangi, featured insights from six distinguished alumni.
Participants included Prof. Rashmi Mehta, Prof. Renu Mattoo, Prof. Jeetu Singh, and Ronald Decosta, among others.
They shared their experiences and perspectives on the impact of XLRI in their professional and personal lives.
The Odyssey event not only celebrated the institution’s milestone but also reinforced the enduring bond between XLRI and its community of students and educators.
