JBKSS to Contest 55 Seats in Jharkhand Assembly Elections

JBKSS chief Jairam Mahto announces plans to contest 55 seats in the Jharkhand assembly elections, aiming to offer a fresh political alternative.

RANCHI – Jairam Mahto, the chief of JBKSS, has announced that his party will contest 55 seats in the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections.

In a press conference held in Ranchi, Mahto shared that they will contest in constituencies under Giridih, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Khunti, and Godda Lok Sabha seats.

He mentioned that JBKSS had previously contested eight seats in the Lok Sabha elections, covering 46 assembly constituencies.

This time, they plan to extend their reach to many additional seats.

Mahto emphasized that youth and new faces would be given opportunities.

In response to a question, he stated that JBKSS is not a challenge to AJSU, noting that their votes came from areas where AJSU is not present.

The party received significant votes from constituencies such as Bermo, Tundi, Dumri, Silli, and Ichagarh.

Mahto remarked, "We aim to provide a better political option as people are becoming disenchanted with traditional leaders and parties."

JBKSS plans to raise public issues and work for the improvement of Jharkhand.

They will advocate for students’ issues and push for free and fair exams through political pressure.

The party, Mahto added, is inclusive and will work together with all communities to enhance the state’s progress.
