Advanced Facilities for Heart and Cancer Treatment, 623-Bed Capacity

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College, located at Dimna Chowk, is on the cusp of transforming healthcare services in the city with the near completion of a state-of-the-art hospital, equipped with advanced facilities for the treatment of heart and cancer ailments.

JAMSHEDPUR – The much-anticipated hospital at MGM Medical College is nearing its final stages of construction, with an expected commencement of operations by November.

The facility promises to bring a new era of healthcare to the city, offering specialized treatment options and modern amenities.

Education Director Conducts Thorough Inspection

Dr. SK Singh, Education Director of the Health Department, arrived from Ranchi to personally oversee the progress of the ongoing construction.

During his meticulous inspection, Dr. Singh assessed the construction site, identifying any shortcomings and issuing instructions for their rectification to ensure the hospital’s readiness for upcoming inspections.

The inspection was followed by a meeting with MGM Principal Dr. KN Singh, Superintendent Dr. Ravindra Kumar, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Nakul Prasad Chaudhary, and department heads to discuss further plans and preparations.

Principal Secretary’s Visit on June 10

Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of thorough preparations for the impending visit of the Principal Secretary of the Health Department on June 10.

He stressed the need for the presence of officials to address any inquiries during the inspection and ensure the smooth progress of the project.

"We are working diligently to ensure that the hospital meets the highest standards of healthcare infrastructure," stated an official. "The visit of the Principal Secretary will be a crucial milestone in our journey towards providing world-class medical services to the community."

25 Percent Work Remains, Infrastructure Expedited

While significant progress has been made in the construction of the hospital, Dr. SK Singh noted that approximately 25 percent of the work remains pending.

The focus is primarily on completing the electrical and water supply systems, critical components of the hospital’s infrastructure.

The college management has expedited the tender process for water supply to ensure timely completion of these essential facilities.

Hospital Features and Specialties

The new hospital, spanning an impressive seven floors, will feature separate sections for emergency services, outpatient departments (OPD), and wards.

Patients and visitors will be greeted by a dedicated welcome area, while the entire facility will be equipped with centralized air conditioning for optimal comfort.

With a total of 623 beds, including a 123-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the hospital will have the capacity to cater to a large number of patients.

The hospital will house 21 operational departments, providing comprehensive medical services across various specialties.

Notably, the facility will offer specialized treatment for heart and cancer conditions, addressing the growing need for advanced care in these critical areas.

As the final stages of construction progress, the MGM Medical College hospital is poised to become a beacon of healthcare excellence in the region, providing accessible, high-quality medical services to the community.
