RAMGARH – In a heart-wrenching incident, a truck rammed into a tempo on the Ramgarh-Patratu main road on Sunday, resulting in the death of one person and leaving two others critically injured. The deceased, Sandeep Kumar Bedia, was trapped under the wreckage of both vehicles.

Enraged by the tragedy, villagers blocked the Ramgarh Barkakana main road by placing Bedia’s body in the middle of the road, demanding compensation for the loss of life.

Upon receiving information about the accident, police personnel swiftly reached the scene.

They utilized a crane to overturn the truck and extricate the youth who was trapped inside the tempo, crushed beneath the larger vehicle.

In the aftermath of the incident, Bedia’s family members and villagers staged a demonstration by burning tires in the middle of the road, insisting on compensation for their loss.

Considering the growing crowd and the anger among the villagers, a significant police force was deployed to the location to prevent any untoward incidents.

Patratu Circle Officer Amit Bhagat and Patratu SDPO Virendra Ram engaged in a four-hour-long negotiation with the villagers and family members to defuse the tense situation.

Following a written assurance of compensation from the Circle Officer, the villagers handed over Bedia’s body to the police.

The authorities have sent the body to the post-mortem house for further examination, as the investigation into the tragic incident continues.

The devastating accident has left the community in shock, as they mourn the loss of a young life and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.
