Dr. Vinita Singh Becomes First Woman GM in Tata Steel’s Medical Services History

Dr. Sudhir Roy, GM Medical at Tata Main Hospital (TMH), has retired on May 31 and was given a farewell.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel has appointed Dr. Vinita Singh as the new GM of Medical Services, making her the first woman to hold this position in the company’s history.

Dr. Vinita Singh, formerly the Chief of Indoor Services and a renowned gynecologist, takes over the role.

Her husband, Dr. Sunil Singh, is a well-known surgeon.

This appointment marks a significant shift as Dr. Vinita Singh is also the first internal doctor from TMH to be promoted to GM of Medical Services, breaking the tradition of hiring external candidates for the role.
