JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel has commemorated National Fire Service Week, emphasizing fire safety awareness and honoring fallen firefighters, with a series of events from April 14 to 20.
The week-long observance began at the Tata Steel Fire Brigade in Jamshedpur, with officials including Arvind Kumar Sinha and Major Anil Kumar paying tribute to firefighters.
A variety of activities aimed at promoting fire safety were held, including the distribution of fire prevention posters and emergency preparedness sessions in schools.
An online quiz on fire safety engaged 2,436 employees, enhancing their awareness and readiness for fire-related emergencies.
Daily fire safety advisories were issued, and extensive training on fire extinguisher use was provided to over 4,800 school children, 260 teachers, and 60 homemakers.
Mock drills were also conducted at several Tata locations, including Tata Motors Limited and TMH Hospital, to reinforce the practical application of fire safety protocols.
First aid and fire extinguisher training sessions were held at various schools and Tata facilities, reaching approximately 850 employees and contractors.
Additionally, a special fire safety training session was organized for local media personnel in Jamshedpur, further broadening the reach of fire safety education.
