Shikhar Dhawan Reflects on Emotional Journey, IPL Performance

Veteran Cricketer Scores 151 Runs in IPL Amid Personal Challenges

In a poignant moment of reflection, Shikhar Dhawan, the seasoned Indian cricketer and current captain of Punjab Kings in IPL 2024, shared an emotional message on social media remembering his son, Zorawar. Dhawan, who has been conspicuously absent from the national team since December 2022, is channeling his focus into the ongoing IPL season, amidst personal challenges.

DESK – Shikhar Dhawan’s presence in the IPL continues to draw attention, not only for his performance but also for his heartfelt expressions off the field.

The cricketer has amassed 151 runs across five matches in the current IPL season.

Dhawan recently shared a touching post on Instagram dedicated to his son, accompanied by a picture of his jersey bearing Zorawar’s name.

In the emotional post, Dhawan wrote, “You are always with me, my son,” signaling the deep bond despite their physical distance.

Personal Struggles

Dhawan’s personal life has seen significant changes over the years, including his divorce from Ayesha Mukherjee in 2020, with whom he shares his son.

Living apart from Zorawar, who resides with his mother, Dhawan frequently uses social media as a platform to share his feelings and memories related to his son.

During his son’s last birthday in December, Dhawan expressed the pain of separation, stating, “It’s been a year since I saw you, and now, it’s been three months since I’ve been blocked from everywhere so I’m posting the same picture to wish you.”

Despite these challenges, Dhawan’s commitment to cricket remains steadfast.

He is keen to make a robust comeback, both on the personal and professional fronts, indicating a strong desire to return to the field fully recovered from a recent illness.
