Hemant Soren has filed for bail concerning a significant land scam case involving military land.
RANCHI – Former Chief Minister Hemant Soren has sought judicial relief through a bail application in a high-profile land scam case.
The petition, lodged by Soren’s legal team, is scheduled for a hearing in the PMLA special court on Tuesday, April 16.
Soren, who had resigned just before his January 31 arrest by the Enforcement Directorate, finds himself at the center of an alleged scandal over 8.5 acres of army-occupied land in Bariatu, Ranchi.
The former leader was initially held under ED custody for 13 days, during which he underwent intensive questioning.
Currently, Soren is detained in Hotwar jail, pending further legal proceedings.
Linked to the same case, Bhanu Pratap from Badgai and Md. Saddam, accused of orchestrating fake land deeds, also face charges, with Saddam under ED remand until the upcoming court session.
