JAMSHEDPUR – The Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand, K. Ravi Kumar, visited Jamshedpur to oversee the Lok Sabha elections 2024 preparations, meeting with District Election Officer Ananya Mittal to evaluate the district’s readiness.
Praising the preparatory work in East Singhbhum, Kumar emphasized enhancing facilities at polling stations, especially for the disabled and elderly, to ensure a comfortable voting experience.
He advocated for essential amenities such as shade, drinking water, toilets, and seating at polling stations, considering the expected heat.
Kumar’s inspection included the Gandhi Ashram polling center and a community hall at New Baradwari, focusing on voter registration and the arrangements for the election day.
Instructions were given to minimize voter inconvenience, including the construction of disability-standard ramps and signage for blind voters, enhancing access to essential services.
The visit saw participation from Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, among other district officials, underscoring a collaborative effort to facilitate a smooth voting process.
