Local Chess Talents Set for National Championship

Thirteen chess prodigies from East Singhbhum are heading to the National Championship after dominating the state tournament.

JAMSHEDPUR – East Singhbhum district is celebrating the remarkable achievement of thirteen young chess players who are set to represent Jharkhand at the National Championship.

Their journey to the national stage was secured through stellar performances in various age categories at the Jharkhand State Chess Championship in Hazaribagh.

East Singhbhum’s talent shone brightly, claiming 21 out of 30 medals available at the state championship.

The district’s top performers, spanning under-7 to under-15 categories, have earned their place on the Jharkhand team due to their skill and determination.

Notable among the qualifiers are talents such as T Niharika, Abhigyan Singh, and Rudranil Roy, alongside other exceptional players who will compete at the Nationals.

District Secretary N.K. Tiwary, along with team members, has extended congratulations to these young players for their upcoming national challenge.

This success story from East Singhbhum not only highlights the region’s chess prowess but also sets a promising stage for its players at the national level.

The district’s achievement underscores the thriving chess culture in East Singhbhum and its potential to produce champions of the future.
