In a remarkable display of determination and lifelong learning, Anjani Kishore Sahay, a 67-year-old resident of Jamshedpur, has earned his PhD degree from Usha Martin University, proving that age is no barrier when it comes to the pursuit of knowledge and personal fulfillment.
JAMSHEDPUR – Anjani Kishore Sahay, son of Gaur Priya Devi and the late Krishna Nand Sahay, has been awarded a doctoral degree by Usha Martin University for his research on the "Impact of training and development on employees of steel industries of Jharkhand," a topic of immense significance to the region.
Sahay’s academic journey is particularly noteworthy as he completed his doctoral studies within an impressive timeframe of just three years, showcasing his unwavering dedication and perseverance.
Under the expert guidance of Dr. Anupama Verma, Sahay successfully navigated the challenges of rigorous academic research, demonstrating his commitment to excellence.
Sahay’s professional life has been marked by an enduring association with Tata Steel, where he dedicated 39 years of service, starting as a GT in the 1980 batch and culminating in his retirement in 2017.
His decision to embark on a doctoral journey post-retirement is a testament to his unquenchable thirst for knowledge and personal growth.
The achievement is all the more significant given Sahay’s family background, which boasts a rich tradition of academic excellence, with several members holding doctoral degrees.
His sons, Dr. Ashesh Prasanna and Dr. Aparaman Sahay, have both earned their PhDs in the United States, while his younger son, Abhilash Prasanna, is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Geneva.
Drawing inspiration from his family’s academic legacy and driven by a desire to make a meaningful contribution, Sahay embarked on his research journey amidst the unprecedented challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
