Deoghar SP Replaced, New Appointments by Election Commission

Election Commission Assigns New SP to Deoghar, Fills Key Police Posts

In a significant reshuffle, Deoghar welcomes Rakesh Ranjan as its new SP, following the removal of Ajit Peter Dungdung.

RANCHI – The Election Commission has announced the appointment of Rakesh Ranjan as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) for Deoghar, succeeding the outgoing SP Ajit Peter Dungdung.

This change is part of a broader initiative by the Election Commission to fill crucial vacant positions within the police force.

Additionally, a request for a panel to appoint the Dumka Range IG and Palamu DIG resulted in the state government proposing about a dozen IPS officers for consideration.

From this selection, the Commission has appointed Anup Vijay Lakshmi as IG of Dumka Zone and YS Ramesh as DIG of Palamu Range.

Sumit Kumar Aggarwal has been assigned as Ranchi Rural SP, a position that had remained vacant for an extended period.

These appointments reflect the Commission’s efforts to ensure effective law enforcement and administrative leadership in key regions.
