ADITYAPUR – Late Friday night, Adityapur police rescued a mentally unstable man who had fallen into an old well near Khanbari. The man, Mohammad Javed, sustained injuries and is now receiving treatment at MGM Hospital.
Swift Action by Police Patrol
The rescue occurred around 12:30 a.m. when a police patrol team, led by ASI Vinod Tudu, heard cries for help near Khanbari’s Vishwas Lodge. Acting promptly, Tudu informed Station Officer Rajiv Kumar Singh and rushed to the scene with additional personnel. Using a rope, they conducted a cautious operation, successfully bringing Javed to safety within 30 minutes.
Victim’s Condition and Background
Javed, a resident of Muslim Basti, H Road, was found to have a spinal injury. Upon questioning, he disclosed his name. His brother, Mohammad Naushad, revealed that Javed is mentally challenged and works at a cotton shop. He had gone missing from home earlier in the evening, prompting a family search.
