The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has initiated a strict enforcement campaign against street vendors unlawfully occupying city parking spaces. This move is part of a broader effort to address parking congestion and facilitate smoother traffic flow throughout Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant step towards improving urban infrastructure, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has embarked on a daily operation to remove pushcart vendors from parking zones across the city.
Krishna Kumar, the Deputy Municipal Commissioner of JNAC, highlighted the campaign’s objective to free up parking areas and enhance vehicular movement.
The enforcement action kicked off with the removal of vendors from the Sakchi roundabout to Ramlila Maidan, who were previously occupying designated parking spots.
Assistant Engineer MK Pradhan led the clearance of a considerable number of handcarts along Straight Mile Road, ensuring the roadside parking areas are freed from unauthorized vendor occupation.
The JNAC has pledged to maintain this crackdown as part of its commitment to ensure accessible and unobstructed parking for both residents and visitors.
