Jamshedpur Ensures Electoral Participation for Essential Workers

In a pivotal move to ensure no eligible voter is left behind, officials in Jamshedpur have been briefed on facilitating postal ballot voting for personnel categorized under Essential Services. This initiative underscores the city’s commitment to an inclusive electoral process, accommodating the needs of those in critical sectors such as electricity, telecommunications, transportation, healthcare, and media.

JAMSHEDPUR – The meeting highlighted the collaboration between various officials from Essential Service sectors to streamline the postal ballot process.

This collaboration aims to ensure that all eligible individuals within these sectors have the means to participate in the upcoming elections without hindrance.

Postal ballot voting, set from May 20 to May 22, is designed to provide a convenient voting option for those unable to visit polling stations on election day.

Mittal called on office heads within Essential Services to ensure their employees are registered and listed correctly in the voter list, emphasizing the importance of their participation in the democratic process.

The directive for officers and employees engaged in duty on election day to use postal ballots through Form 12D was reiterated, ensuring their right to vote is preserved.

The assembly was made aware of the necessity to compile a comprehensive list of Essential Services personnel eligible for postal ballot voting, highlighting the systematic approach to inclusivity.
