The Forest Department’s investigation into the leopard sightings in Namopada has been hampered by rain, complicating efforts to track the elusive predator.

Authorities confirmed the discovery of paw prints matching those of a leopard, indicating its continued presence in the densely populated area, with further expert analysis needed.

The sighting of the leopard near residential zones late on Tuesday night, after days without any sightings, has reignited concerns among locals, leading to increased vigilance.

Residents of Namopada and surrounding areas are on high alert, with many choosing to stay indoors, especially parents concerned for their children’s safety.

Sitaram Nayak’s report of a leopard lurking near his home in the early hours has intensified the urgency for authorities to address the situation.

The presence of a leopard in the industrial area of Bada Gamharia for several days has instilled a mixture of fear and panic among the local populace.
