Leopard Terror Grips Gamharia, Seraikela; Schools Shut Down
Helpline Numbers Issued as Forest Department Intensifies Rescue Efforts
The terror of a leopard roaming in the Gamharia industrial area of Seraikela district has been increasing since Sunday, leaving people living in an atmosphere of fear. The closure of Kerala Public School on Tuesday has further heightened the sense of panic among the residents.
JAMSHEDPUR – The district administration and forest department have issued helpline numbers to facilitate the capture of the leopard. The public has been advised to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement at night.
The leopard was first spotted on March 17 in the RSB Company premises located in the Adityapur Industrial Area of Seraikela-Kharsawan district. Since then, the district administration and forest department have been actively searching for the animal, which continues to roam freely in the area.
Residents of Ashiana Aditya Apartment on High Alert
The residents of Ashiana Aditya Apartment, adjacent to the Adityapur Industrial Area, are living in fear due to the leopard’s presence. People have been keeping vigil for two days, with flat residents bursting crackers at intervals throughout the night. RWA’s Amit Nagelia and Kundan Singh are continuously appealing to the residents to remain alert and have formed groups to prevent the leopard from entering the premises.
Forest Department’s Rescue Operation Continues
Despite the Forest Department’s continuous rescue operation, the leopard has not been caught yet. This has led to an atmosphere of panic among entrepreneurs and people living in the residential area. The Forest Department has appealed to the public to avoid rumors about the leopard and stay safe.
Forest Department Issues Helpline Numbers
The terror of leopard roaming in the Gamharia industrial area of Seraikela district has taken the entire area into its grip.
Meanwhile the district Helpline numbers have been issued by the administration and forest department for help in rescuing the leopard and protecting the civilian population.
The information issued by the administration reads – “The General public is hereby informed that on 17.03.2024, a leopard has been seen in RSB Unit #1 Company located at Gamharia, after which the Forest Department is making every possible effort for the rescue operation. Till the completion of this rescue operation, people working and living in all the industrial units and residential areas located in Gamharia Industrial Area and its surroundings are requested not to leave the house unnecessarily at night and not to roam alone. If absolutely necessary, use vehicles together or use a four-wheeler. If any person gets any information about leopard, then immediately contact the following mobile numbers and share the information."
