Jails in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Seraikela to Get ₹2.82 Crore Upgrade

Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Seraikela jails to undergo construction and repair with a ₹2.82 crore budget.
RANCHI – The home, jail, and disaster management department of Jharkhand has allocated ₹2.82 crore for the construction and repair of jails in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Seraikela.
The allocated funds are divided among the Birsa Munda Central Jail in Hotwar Ranchi with ₹1.36 crore, the central jail in Ghaghidih with ₹72.38 lakh, and the divisional jail in Seraikela with ₹74.24 lakh.
The Jail Superintendents are designated as the officers responsible for the withdrawal and expenditure of these funds.
They will withdraw the allocated amounts from the district treasury, transfer them to the account of the Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation, and report the expenditures back to the department.
This financial infusion aims to enhance the infrastructure of these detention facilities, ensuring better living conditions for inmates and improved working environments for jail staff.
