Over 1000 Employees Engage in Tata Steel’s DE&I Week Celebration

Tata Steel’s DE&I Week highlights inclusivity and celebrates diversity across its locations.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel observed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Week from March 11 to 15, under the theme “Inked in Inclusivity,” drawing participation from over 1000 employees across various locations.

This initiative aimed to foster a sense of belonging among diverse communities, emphasizing their value and respect within the organization.

The week kicked off with insights from Mukesh Agarwal, Chief HR Business Partner Steel, Tata Steel Jamshedpur, and Chief Wellness Officer. Highlights included addresses by Chaitanya Bhanu, Vice President, Steel Manufacturing, and Satish Kumar Singh, General Secretary, Tata Workers’ Union, setting the stage for a week of appreciation and engagement.

Day one introduced a 5 Day Appreciation Week, encouraging employees to acknowledge colleagues’ efforts in promoting DE&I. This initiative set a positive tone, inviting active participation from the workforce.

Significant activities included “Prerna: Interaction with Leadership,” where over 500 female employees engaged with senior leaders like Probal Ghosh, Vice President, Shared Services. This session recognized 50 women for their achievements and highlighted departments excelling in diversity.

Industry experts, including Uttam Singh and Shahnawaz Alam, contributed their insights on DE&I’s role and impact within organizations. A notable session with activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi addressed transgender rights and challenges, enriching the dialogue on inclusivity.

The week concluded with “Shades of Diversity,” a vibrant showcase of cultural and talent performances, alongside departmental activities that brought the celebration closer to employees’ daily work environments.

Tata Steel’s DE&I Week reflects its ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where diversity is not just welcomed but celebrated.
